Philology is complex humanities that study cultural heritage. Philological disciplines: linguistics, literary studies, folklore, textology, rhetoric, stylistics, as well as semiotics, poetics, paleography, source studies allow to study the language and literature of any ethnic group in various ways. Philology contributes to the correct understanding of the text - the main subject of study - as a historical source or artistic monument, and official business document, involving descriptive, comparative-historical, structural, transformational and other linguistic methods.

A philologist-translator is a specialist who speaks a foreign language professionally, performs oral and written translations of specialized literature, including agricultural, technical, legal, socio-economic, medical texts, as well as literary texts.
Translator is one of the most prestigious and popular professions today. Professional knowledge of the translator will be needed in any sphere of social activity - economic (production), social, political, spiritual.
The range of jobs of a philologist-translator is quite wide: domestic enterprises of small, medium and large business; scientific, public institutions and organizations; translation agency; Mass media, information services, TV and radio companies; international companies and organizations, embassies of foreign countries, etc.
