The faculty trains veterinarians, whose main task is to ensure the welfare of livestock in relation to diseases of animals, fish, bees; protection of human health from diseases common to animals and humans (zooanthroponoses); quality control of raw materials and livestock products.

Training is carried out at the following levels of higher education:

Bachelor / Master

Doctor of Philosophy

The profile departments are equipped with lecture halls, auditoriums, laboratories, arenas, hospitals for animals, there are two training clinics for medical and preventive care for sick animals. The faculty has a training farm (vivarium). The departments have student research groups, which allow them to master more deeply the professional disciplines, laboratory research methods needed to diagnose a sick animal to determine the optimal treatment regimen for different species of animals, including exotic and zoo ones.

Students undergo training and clinical practice on the basis of: Regional State Laboratory of Veterinary Medicine, Poltava Regional Hospital of Veterinary Medicine and its subordinate district and city hospitals of veterinary medicine, Poltava Meat Processing Plant, laboratories of veterinary and sanitary examination and city markets. LLC “Agroecology ”, OJSC “Poltavaplemservice ”, LLC “Agrofirm Mayak ”, veterinary medicine clinics of Poltava and others.

Applicants for higher education have the opportunity to do an internship abroad and get a European diploma, get a driver's license and the rank of junior lieutenant after military training!

Applicants for higher education who study at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine have the opportunity to use the sports complex, library, reading hall, computer classrooms equipped with modern computers connected to the Internet and Wi Fi, in-depth study of foreign languages. On the territory of the university there are dormitories, where the necessary conditions for living and recreation of students are created. Sectional dormitory with refrigerators, furniture, washing machines, TVs, showers.
 

In summer, students practice and recuperate in a sports and recreation camp, which is located in a picturesque corner of the village Petrovka on the banks of the river Vorskla.

Applicants for higher education after obtaining a master's degree can work in the specialty: in animal fattening farms, dairies, meat plants, public and private veterinary hospitals, open private practice, rail transport and state border, as well as in other institutions and organizations related to animals, raw materials and products of animal origin by their transportation, storage and processing; as well as work abroad and in science and technology.

The list of EIT certificates in competitive subjects submitted by entrants:

  • Ukrainian language,
  • biology or mathematics,
  • chemistry or physics
