Study period for Bachelor’s degree (specialization is Business Economics) at full-time is 4 years.

Study period for Master's degree (specialization is Business Economics) is 1.5 years for both full-time and part-time forms of education.

Economics is a field of science about usage of measured resources, production, division, exchange, sale and consumption of goods and services.

Students of economics study the functioning of any enterprise (organisation) no matter what size or organizational and legal form of management they do.

The profession of economist has the following unique features:

  • prospects - the possibility to start business successfully;
  • versatility - wide area of employment in any sphere where the knowledge of economics is needed
  • profitability - a high level of wages for professional economists.

The training of highly qualified professionals of the specialty 051 Economics is conducted for leading Ukrainian and foreign enterprises, public service and local self-government bodies, research and expertise centres.

Funding for gaining high education of the specialty 051 Economics:

  • at the expense of the State Budget of Ukraine;
  • at the expense of legal entities;
  • at the expense of individuals.

The training of students of specialty 051 Economics is carried out so that they will be able to perform organizational and management functions, administrative and economic, informational and analytical ones.

Highly qualified teaching staff of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Economics, Management, Law and Information Technologies conducts a special training of professionals in economics. Doctors and candidates of economic sciences provide the process of teaching disciplines.

The training of students of specialty economics is carried out with the usage of active educational forms and methods - online courses, group projects’ development, workshops, case studies, additionally with professionals’ participation of leading Ukrainian enterprises.

The training of students for their participation in international and Ukrainian scholarship programmes and contests is conducted constantly, in particular:

  1. The National contest of students scientific projects in natural, technical and human sciences of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
  2. The contest among young scientists, specialists and students for the best scientific project, which was held by the Institute of Strategic Assessments (ISO) at the Presidential fund "Ukraine" of Leonid Kuchma.
  3. The contest of students scientific projects of “Zavtra. UA” Victor Pinchuk Foundation.
  4. The National youth contest “Novitnii intelekt Ukrainy” (New intelligence of Ukraine), which takes place within the framework of “Ukraine 3000” International Charity Foundation.
  5. The National project “Ukraine today: New start. Economic and social development”) with the support of the Institute of economics and forecasting of the National Academy of science of Ukraine, national youth organisation “Studrespublika” (“Students’ Republic”)
  6. The National contest of students scientific projects in economic reforms with the support of the National community of scientists-economists and the National Academy of science of Ukraine.
  7. The contest of students scientific projects “Sustainable development with the participation of local communities” with the support of European Union and the EU development programme “Community Based Approach to Local Development Project”.
  8. The National business plans contest in entrepreneurship among the youth.
  9. Essay contest of Brothers Klitschko Foundation and (Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung) (KAS) Foundation within the framework of the common project “Make society healthy”.
  10. The contest for the best scientific project of Rector’s Council of high educational institutions of ІІІ-IV accreditation levels in Poltava region and Regional scientific students community.

During 2013-2017 411 students were trained for participation in scientific contests and scholarship programmes, among them 417 scientific projects were researched and 105 winners were defined.

Specialized academic council Д 44.887.01 for the defense of doctoral and candidate dissertations in two specialties was created: 08.00.03 - "Economics and Management of the National Economy" and 08.00.04 - "Economics and Management of Enterprises".

Specialty 051 “Economics” graduates work in leading enterprises of Ukraine, EU countries, the US, Canada, China: agrarian, trade, processing, transport, construction ones on the positions of economists, logisticians, finance specialists, managers, as well as head of enterprises and their structural departments. Some graduates work in State Tax Administration of Ukraine, State Treasury of Ukraine, State Financial Inspection of Ukraine, in executive power bodies, local self-government bodies, research institutions.
